German Chancellor Angela Merkel is still awaiting an explanation from Russia in connection with the resonant poisoning of Russian opposition leader Alexei Navalny, DW reports.
German Deputy Government Spokesman Ulrike Demmer on Wednesday, September 16, highlighted the need for an immediate clarification of the situation from the Russian government.
At the same time, Merkel has not yet discussed the situation with the oppositionist with Russian President Vladimir Putin, Demmer added.
Note that the Russian authorities have not yet announced the opening of an investigation in Navalny's case.
