Georgia, Moldova and Ukraine announced their aspirations to the EU

At the international conference "The Power of Gravity of the European Union and the Transformation of the Region" in Batumi, the presidents of Georgia, Moldova and Ukraine Salome Zurabishvili, Maia Sandu and Volodymyr Zelenskyy signed a declaration on the aspiration of the three countries to join the European Union. The declaration will bring Tbilisi, Chisinau and Kiev closer together, and the Black Sea will become a symbol of this union and open the way to the EU, Zurabishvili said on Monday, July 19 at a press conference of the "Associated Trio" created by Georgia, Ukraine and Moldova in May,- DW reports.

"Our countries have a lot in common, but the main thing is that we do not want to return to the past. We are ready to fight for our European future. We have undertaken to support each other," she said after the signing ceremony. Among other things, the signatory states pledged to develop free trade with the EU.
