Muftiate of Kabardino-Balkaria urged to objectively investigate the incident in Nalchik

The counter-terrorist operation in the city of Nalchik with the killing of five people has caused great concern in the Muslim society, the organization of the muslims of Kabardino-Balkarian republic (Muftiate) stated today and called for an objective investigation of this incident.

As the "Caucasian Knot" wrote, on July 3 in Nalchik, and then in Baksan, a counter-terrorist operation regime was introduced. The National Anti-Terrorism Committee of Russia said that during the special operation, five militants were killed in Nalchik and in the vicinity of the city of Baksan.

The Muftiate noted that the incident caused great concern in the Muslim society of the republic and called on the head of Kabardino-Balkaria Kazbek Kokov and the republic's prosecutor Nikolai Khabarov to take this case under their personal control "for an objective and impartial investigation of this incident."
