Researchers expect to find preserved varieties of stone fruit trees - the legacy of the famous Circassian gardens. Also, scientists  are interested in local varieties and wild berry crops: strawberries, raspberries, gooseberries, blackberries, etc. This was announced on Instagram by the Head of the Republic of Adygea Murat Kumpilov.

Scientists plan to visit Maikop, Shovgen and Koshehabl districts of Adygea. And according to the results of the research, the expedition members will meet with the students of the Adyghe State University, with which VIR carries out joint scientific projects.

- Thank you for your interest in our region and wish you success in your important work! VIR is the first and one of the world's largest genetic banks of cultivated plants. The unique collection of seeds preserved by scientists is the basis of food security in Russia, - Murat Kumpilov said.
