Russian President Vladimir Putin congratulated the participants, organizers and guests of the XIII Congress of the Union of Public Associations "International Circassian Association for the Unification of the Circassian People, Development of Relations between the Circassian Diaspora and the Historical Homeland." "The issues of preserving the identity and originality of each nation, strengthening interethnic and interreligious harmony are invariably given priority attention of the state. It is gratifying that such large organizations as the International Circassian Association, which celebrates its 30th anniversary this year, take an active part in this serious work." - the telegram says.
The head of state stressed that the representatives of the association care about the preservation and popularization of their native language, honor the traditions of their ancestors and introduce young people to them, implement projects in various fields and increase interaction with compatriots abroad. "The efforts of the association to maintain peace and harmony in the North Caucasus, your constructive dialogue with government agencies and civil society institutions deserve special recognition," he said.
Putin expressed confidence that the congress will be held in a creative, fruitful manner, will serve to successfully resolve the pressing issues facing the association.
