USA confirms that want to see Ukraine in NATO

Pentagon chief Lloyd Austin reaffirmed the commitment of the United States to the idea of Ukraine's joining NATO. He called this the main topic of his official visit to Kiev. During his speech at the briefing of the heads of the military departments, Austin also mentioned Russia, which he accuses, in particular, of aggression and unleashing a war in the Donbass:

“The United States steadily supports the sovereignty and territorial integrity of Ukraine. In this regard, we again appeal to Russia to end the occupation of Crimea, incitement to war in eastern Ukraine, destabilizing activities in the Black Sea and along the borders of Ukraine, to stop ongoing cyberattacks and other hostile actions against the United States, its allies and partners. ",- euronews reports.

Russia rejects all charges and insists that it cannot be considered a party to the armed conflict in Donbass. The Kremlin calls the prospect of Ukraine joining NATO "the worst scenario" and "goes beyond the red lines of Russia's national interests."

As for the alliance itself, Moscow has refused to establish relations in the near future. This was stated by Foreign Minister Sergei Lavrov. Russia suspended the work of the NATO office in Moscow and its representation at the headquarters of the alliance in response to the expulsion of members of the Russian mission from Brussels.
