Former Senator of the Federation Council of the Russian Federation Rauf Arashukov and his father Raul at a meeting in the Moscow City Court said that they are not guilty to the alleged crimes, lawyer Vladimir Postaniuk told RIA Novosti.
"The prosecutor outlined the essence of the charge brought, and we outlined our position. Rauf Arashukov did not admit his guilt, Raul Turbievich said that he did not commit a crime, but did not commit any immoral act at all," the lawyer said.
The investigation believes that Raul Arashukov, as the head of the criminal community ordered, and his son Rauf, as a member of an organized criminal group, organized the murders of the deputy chairman of the Adyge-Khase youth movement of Karachay-Circassia Aslan Zhukov and the adviser to the president of Karachay-Circassia Fral Shebzukhov. The ex-senator was also charged with two episodes of abuse of power and a false denunciation.
The consideration of the case will continue on November 30.
