December 18, the Head of the Republic of Adygea Murat Kumpilov paid a working visit to the city of Cherkessk, where he met with the Head of the Karachay-Circassian Republic Rashid Temrezov, the Head of the Kabardino-Balkarian Republic Kazbek Kovov and the Governor of the Stavropol Territory Vladimir Vladimirov,- adygheya.ru reports.

The fraternal republics of Adygea, Kabardino-Balkaria and Karachay-Circassia will celebrate the 100th anniversary of their statehood next year. The corresponding decrees were signed by the President of the Russian Federation Vladimir Putin.

As part of the anniversary date, large-scale transformations are underway in the three republics of the country: construction of new and reconstruction of existing social and infrastructural facilities; many cultural, sports and youth events are held.

Murat Kumpilov, Rashid Temrezov and Kazbek Kokov discussed the possibility of holding joint festive events in Moscow, as well as in the three republican capitals: Maikop, Cherkessk and Nalchik.

The participants in the meeting were unanimous in the need for a vivid and dignified presentation of the achievements of the fraternal republics at the federal level. In addition, the role of the Stavropol Territory, as the center of the North Caucasus Federal District, in the development of strengthening interregional and interethnic cooperation in the North Caucasus was noted.

“All our initiatives are supported by the country's leadership. Therefore, it will not be an exaggeration to say that the upcoming date of the 100th anniversary is very symbolic for all of us," Rashid Temrezov said.

“I would like to note the high level of interaction between our regions. I am sure that the established good-neighborly relations will serve the further progressive development of Adygea, Karachay-Circassia, Kabardino-Balkaria and the Stavropol Territory," Murat Kumpilov said.

“Residents of our constituent entities are successfully building businesses in neighboring regions, students study at universities. And within the framework of the 100th anniversary, of course, we will involve a large number of people in this, because this is a sign of statehood, and everyone should know about it, ” Vladimir Vladimirov said.

“I would like this significant date to be celebrated in our fraternal regions as well. We will ask Vladimir Vladimirovich to hold one of the key events in Stavropol,” Kazbek Kokov said.

The result of the meeting was the signing of an agreement between Adygea, Karachay-Circassia, Kabardino-Balkaria and Stavropol on cooperation in the field of education, culture and sports. Separately, a plan was signed on cooperation between the governments of the four constituent entities of the Russian Federation.

During the visit, the heads of the regions also visited the art gallery of the city of Cherkessk, where various expositions reflecting natural attractions and milestones of the historical and cultural heritage of the republic were exhibited.
