September 28 in the Circassian Republics and in Shapsugia of the Krasnodar region (North Caucasus) celebrates the day of the Circassian (Adyghe) national costume. This celebration was held in the first time on 28 of September 2011 in the Circassian republics of Adygea, Kabardino-Balkaria and Karachay-Circassia.
On this day, exhibitions of historical costumes and fashion shows and competitions of fashion designers working with national style are held in museums and houses of culture of the republics.
Thematic hours and events are held in schools and kindergartens. Public organizations and scientific institutions hold round tables and conferences.
The Circassian costume is gaining popularity in the Circassian republics. Entire ateliers have appeared for tailoring the national men's costume and the "Sae" women's dress, which is traditionally decorated with gold embroidery, forged clasps and complemented by high hats.
And of course, according to tradition, the celebrations end with a big dance shows as well as dances with the participation of the audience and guest travelers.
