Athlete from Adygea won gold at the World Sambo Championship

Ekaterina Solovieva, a first-year student of the Adyghe State University and  Institute of Physical Culture and Judo, took first place in the World Sambo Championship in Armenia among cadets and juniors,- newspaper Sovetskaya Adygea reports.

Ekaterina became the strongest in the +80 kg category. 2nd place was taken by Tselengorgol Sanjidmaa from Mongolia. The third place was shared by athletes from Greece and Kazakhstan.

In the Republic of Adygea, Ekaterina is trained by Baizet Naniz.

The World Championship takes place in Yerevan from 12 to 17 October. According to the Center for Sports Training of Russian National Teams, this is the main world start in sambo for cadets, boys, girls  and juniors combat sambo. Athletes from 24 countries represent their national teams and compete for 55 sets of medals.
