Russia should not use fictitious pretexts to escalate the war in Ukraine,  Jens Stoltenberg said . He dismissed Moscow's claim that Ukraine is developing a "dirty bomb" as a pure lie.

NATO Secretary General Jens Stoltenberg warned Russian President Vladimir Putin against using false pretexts to further escalate the war against Ukraine. "Russia should not use fictitious pretexts for further escalation. Allegations that Ukraine plans to use a "dirty bomb" with radioactive material on its territory are pure lies," Stoltenberg said during a visit to the American aircraft carrier USS George H.W. Bush in the Mediterranean Sea on Tuesday, the 25th of October.

"Russia often blames others for what it itself has planned to do," the NATO Secretary General noted, adding that the world community is closely following what is happening.
