Over the past 6 years, the tourist flow to Karachay-Circassia has doubled

 


The tourist flow to the resorts of the Karachay-Circassian Republic has doubled over the past 6 years - up to 1.7 million people, the news agency Ria Karachay-Circassia reports.

In 2015, about 750 thousand people visited Karachay-Circassia, and in 2021 - already 1.749 million people.

The Ministry of Tourism of the Republic noted that with the stable functioning of the resorts of the Republic, experts predict an increase in the tourist flow by the end of this year to the level of 1.9 million people.

Arkhyz and Dombay ski resorts, the Teberdinsky National Park and the Honey Waterfalls tourist complex remain popular destinations among the guests.

Earlier it became known that Karachay-Circassia became the absolute leader among the subjects of the central and eastern  North Caucasus in terms of the number of tourists who arrived in 2021.

In total, about 6 million tourists visited the resorts of the central and eastern North Caucasus in 2021, of which more than 1.7 million tourists visited Karachay-Circassia, more than 1.3 million tourists visited the Stavropol Territory, more than 1 million tourists visited the Republics of Dagestan and Kabardino-Balkaria. The tourist flow to such republics as Chechnya, North Ossetia and Ingushetia amounted to less than 1 million people.

In the Western Caucasus of the Circassian homeland, about 16 million tourists visited in 2021, more than 15 million in the Krasnodar Territory, less than 1 million people in the Republic of Adygea.
