For many centuries, the Circassians (Adyghe) celebrated the New Year on the day of the Spring Equinox. This year, once again, residents and guests of the capital of the Republic of Adygea will have the opportunity to take part in the annual theatrical festival "New Year Holiday". It will take place on March 21 at 18:00 in Maykop on the square near the monument "Unity and Consent",- the newspaper the voice of Circassians reports.
The mass entertainment event will be attended by leading actors of the National Theater of the Republic of Adygea named after I.S. Tsey, collectives of the creative association "Oshad" and representatives of national communities. The event will end with Circassian dances and a competition for the best performance of Circassian folk dances, where prize certificates from the sponsors of the event will be raffled off. Participants and spectators will be treated to dishes of the Circassian cuisine.
And at the Maykop State Technological University on March 21 at 13:00 there will be a regional scientific and practical conference dedicated to the Circassian New Year.
As part of the program at the conference, speakers will present their work and research related to the culture and traditions of the Circassians. The participants of the conference are waiting for master classes on grafting fruit trees and making candles, tasting dairy, meat and honey products, as well as the exhibition "Traditional Branches of Agriculture of the Circassians".
