25.10.2019 at the Government House, the Head of Kabardino-Balkaria Republic Kazbek Kokov met with the Ambassador Plenipotentiary of the French Republic in Russian Federation, Sylvie Bermann, who arrived in Kabardino-Balkaria on an official visit,- reports the press service of the head of Kabardino-Balkaria .
The two sides discussed prospects for cooperation in terms of implementing joint investment projects, including in the framework of the development of the tourist and recreational complex of the republic.
“We attach great importance to the establishment and development of economic ties, and we consider attracting investment into the regional economy as one of the priority tasks of foreign economic activity. I am sure that your visit to the republic will give a new impetus to our further multifaceted partnership, ”said Kazbek Kokov.
Sylvie Bermann thanked the head of the republic for the warm welcome and outlined the most interesting areas of cooperation with Kabardino-Balkaria: “We are aimed at strengthening these business relations. First of all, this applies to economic aspects. Today we have quite a few projects in the field of ecological and mountain tourism. As you know, 2021 has been declared the cross-year of France and Russia, and, in my opinion, it is the North Caucasus, and in particular the Elbrus development project, that can take center stage in the regional agenda as an example of effective cooperation. We support mountain cluster initiatives and we are interesting in the practical implementation of these initiatives. ”
The meeting was attended by the first Secretary of the Embassy of France in the Russian Federation Nicolas Brutan, assistant to the Military Attache of the Embassy of France in Russia Loren Descavé, First Deputy Minister of the Russian Federation for North Caucasus Affairs Odes Baysultanov, Deputy Minister of the Russian Federation for Northern Caucasus Affairs Olga Rukhullaeva, acting representative of the Ministry of Foreign Affairs of the Russian Federation in Mineralnye Vody Maria Krutineva, chief federal inspector in Kabardino-Balkaria Timur Makoyev, management of Resorts of the North Caucasus JSC and the Russian-French company National Cable Car.
As part of their visit in Kabardino-Balkaria, representatives of the diplomatic mission visited mauntain Elbrus, got acquainted with its infrastructure facilities, the organization and construction of the passenger cable car, which is part of the joint project of the North Caucasus Resorts JSC and the French company POMA SAS."
