The Federation of the Circassian Organizations in Turkey sent an official request to the Turkish Parliament for the recognition of the genocide of the Circassians committed by the Russian Empire in the 19 century.
Delegation of the Federation under the leadership of head of the Circassian Federation Nusrat Bash met with the Turkey's Parliament Speaker Mustafa Centopa in his office and handed him a petition on the recognition of the Circassian Genocide committed by the Russian Empire and a 21 documents that relevant to historical facts about the fate of the Circassians during the Russian Circassian war (1763 - 1864).
Mustafa Centop said that he know and share the suffering of the Circassians and will carefully consider this appeal.
