A group of Chinese scientists discovered coronavirus in pangolins - rare mammals whose body is covered with large scales.

This is reported by local television. According to experts from South China Agricultural University and the Lynnan-Guangdong Laboratory of Modern Agriculture, it is pangolin that can be one of the intermediate “hosts” of the new disease.

According to the results of the study, the genomic sequence of the coronavirus in these animals coincides by 99% with the genome of the coronavirus 2019-nCOV isolated from infected people. According to scientists, these data will help to take control of an outbreak of the disease,- reports agency Interfax.
