Tension continues: 33 Chinese companies on the US blacklist

After the trade war, and allegations of technology theft and around the Corona epidemic - another reason for tensions between the US and China.

The United States announced Friday that it would add 33 Chinese companies and institutions to its black economic list. The reason: They are helping Beijing to spy on the Uighur minority that lives in the country, and as a result of ties between these bodies and mass destruction weapons for the Chinese army.

The US Commerce Department's move is the latest in a series of measures taken by the Trump administration against companies whose products may support Chinese military activities, aimed at punishing Beijing for its treatment of its Muslim minorities. It comes after the Chinese Communist Party leaders unveiled details yesterday of a plan to impose national security laws on Hong Kong.
