Unemployment in Kabardino-Balkaria increased by 9 times during the pandemic

The number of unemployed in the Kabardino-Balkarian Republic in September reached 63 thousand people, the press service of the KBR parliament reports, citing the Minister of Labor and Social Protection of the Republic Alim Asanov.

According to North-Caucasus statistic, at the end of March 2020, 7.3 thousand people were registered as unemployed in state employment services. Thus, the indicator increased 8.6 times.

According to Asanov, the increase in the number of registered unemployed is due to a simplified procedure for applying for unemployment benefits through the State Service portal.

The Minister noted that this year the need for the payment of benefits to the unemployed in Kabardino-Balkaria amounted to 1.2 billion rubles. Funds come from the federal budget in parts.
