Gardeners of Kabardino-Balkaria have updated the record for the production of fruit and berries, the portal of the Government of the Republic reports.
In Kabardino-Balkaria in 2021, according to preliminary data from the North Caucasus State Statistics Service, the gross harvest of fruits and berries amounted to 535.5 thousand tons, or 103.5% by 2020.
“The increase in production volumes is primarily due to the high rates of laying modern intensive orchards and nurseries on an innovative basis. Traditionally, Kabardino-Balkaria is among the top three leading regions in the Russian Federation in this area,” the report says.
The main types of fruits and berries grown in Kabardino-Balkaria are apples, plums, pears, cherries, sweet cherries, apricots, raspberries, garden strawberries, and blueberries recently have also been actively cultivated.
