$1.5 million will be allocated to clear the channel of the Baksan river

100 million rubles ($1.5 million)  will be allocated for channel adjustment work on the Baksan River in 2023, according to the portal of the Government of the Kabardino-Balkarian Republic.

The funds were allocated for the second stage of work on the federal project "Preservation of unique water bodies" of the national project "Ecology", - the Minister of Natural Resources and Ecology of Kabardino-Balkaria Ilyas Shavaev said.

In 2017-2018, during the mudflows, the river bed was covered. The work on the channel began in 2022 and is expected to last three years.
