Circassian cinema director Kantemir Balagov from the Kabardino-Balkarian Republic announced the end of his work in the cinema. He announced this on his personal blog, after which he deleted all accounts on social networks. “I'm all over. Two films are more than enough,” wrote the director.
Balagov made his debut in big cinema in 2017 with the film "Tightness". At the Cannes Film Festival, the film received the prize of the International Film Press Federation.
The second film of the director "Dylda", which was included in the short list of "Oscar" in 2019, was also a great success.
After the start of Russia's war against Ukraine, he left Russia and moved to the United States.
