Three Circassian sisters from Syria won medals at the Asian Karate Championship

 

Three Circassian sisters —Marah Othman, Massa Othman, and Meyas Othman—representing the Syrian national team, won medals at the Asian Youth Karate Championship held in Amman, Jordan, from September 8 to September 11.

In the Under-18 category (53 kg), Marah Othman won a bronze medal.

In the Under-21 category (50 kg), Massa Othman won a bronze medal.

In the Under-16 category (54 kg), Meyas Othman won a bronze medal.

It is worth noting that over 200,000 Circassians live in Syria, residing in the country's major cities and in twenty Circassian villages. In recent years, young Circassian athletes have won medals at various sports championships in Syria, particularly in disciplines such as jiu-jitsu and tennis.
